Troy Percival setting up for Mariano Rivera?
It's possible if Percival decides he would be comfortable pitching in the eighth inning, according to industry sources.
Percival, however, is more likely to sign as a free agent with the Rays or Brewers if he wants to close — and the Rays might be his No. 1 choice.
Percival, 38, is close with Rays manager Joe Maddon from their days together with the Angels, and their relationship could persuade him to take less money to sign with Tampa Bay.
The Rays, though, are serious enough about Percival that they might be willing to offer him a two-year deal, sources say, while the Brewers would not.

The Yankees, who plan on moving Joba Chamberlain to the rotation, are considering Percival and a number of free-agent options for their bullpen.
Percival, a four-time All-Star who closed for the World Series champion Angels in 2002, likely would be more attractive to them on a one-year deal than other relievers who are seeking three-year contracts.
The question is whether Percival would embrace a setup role after spending his entire career as a closer until his comeback with the Cardinals last season.
Percival missed the second half of the 2005 season and all of '06 with a right forearm injury, but was impressive with the Cardinals, posting a 1.80 ERA and allowing only 34 base-runners in 40 innings while striking out 36.
The signing of Percival would significantly improve Tampa Bay's bullpen, which last season was the worst in the majors. Al Reyes, the team's closer last season, would move into a setup role along with Dan Wheeler.
The Brewers are looking for a closer due to the loss of free-agent closer Francisco Cordero, who has reached preliminary agreement with the Reds on a four-year, $46 million contract.
Another option for the team is to return Derrick Turnbow to the closer's role and sign a setup man to replace Scott Linebrink, who signed a four-year, $19-million free-agent contract with the White Sox.
The Brewers are talking to free-agent right-hander David Riske about such a possibility.
